What’s the Process Like?
Collaboration
I try to make the process as collaborative as possible. I love working back and forth with clients to make sure their vision gets across with the cover. Because of this. I don’t put a cap on revisions, I’ll work with you until we get it 100% nailed down.🤟😎
Step one: Homework
The initial phase is all about diving into your characters and the big picture you've got in mind for the cover. Don't sweat it if you're not entirely sure about the look you're going for right now or if you're vibing with a bunch of different visuals. This process is the key to us locking in a clear direction and an epic vision for that cover. 🚀😎
1. Step one kicks off with an extensive project questionnaire that's all about your characters – their standout traits, the colors you're vibing with, and any other visual cues you're feeling. Feel free to go all out on the details in this questionnaire. We're all about that detailed level of bomb input! 🚀😎
2.If you've got a book synopsis, I'm totally down to check that out. And if you're cool with it, I'd be stoked to dive into your book when it's all set to help shape the art. But if not, a solid synopsis along with character deets and a touch of their personalities will do the trick too. We've got options boo! 🎨😎
3. Taking things up a notch, I'd also get you involved in some Pinterest exploration. We'll team up to craft a Pinterest board loaded with epic illustration styles, fonts, and colors that really catch your eye if you're game for going that extra mile. It's all about cranking up the creative vibes! 🚀📌😎
The Pinterest board sets the groove and shows me what visuals have got your attention. No need to stress about everything being in perfect harmony right now. Throw in anything that strikes a chord with you. We'll then dive deep into what vibes with you and what doesn't from those images, helping us fine-tune the perfect cover for you. It's all about catching that creative rhythm! 🎨👀😎
Step Two: Design
Once the Pinterest board and the overall style vibe get the green light, I'll whip up two initial concept drafts for you to check out side by side.
-
I'm all about unlimited revisions, no matter which path we pick from those initial sketches.
-
The revision phase covers any tweaks to the illustration artwork and fine-tuning the typography, including all the text on the cover.
-
After we nail down the ebook's front cover, we'll kick it up a notch and tackle the full-blown print cover design. Let's keep this creative journey rolling! 🚀🎨😎
